With great anticipation, students at St. Mary’s look forward to Catholic Schools Week, an annual event held at Catholic schools throughout the country, celebrating the gifts of faith, academics, and service that are hallmarks of Catholic education.
Beginning the last weekend in January, Catholic Schools Week at St. Mary’s is like a great big “thank-you” to the Lord, the students and their families, the faculty and staff, and all those who make St. Mary’s School the wonderful place it is:
- Monday – Parish & Priest Appreciation Day: St. Mary’s Home & School parents treat the pastors and parish staff to a homemade lunch and thank-you cards from all the students.
- Tuesday – Student Appreciation Day: all day long, students are treated to fun music, crazy outfits, exotic animals, a sundae bar, talent show…and no homework!
- Wednesday – Blue & White School Spirit Day: a morning full of bowling for all the students in everything blue and white.
- Thursday – Faculty & Staff Appreciation Day: all those who work at St. Mary’s School are showered with tokens of gratitude from fruit baskets and signed photos to special meals…and an 8th grade vs. faculty volleyball game.
- Friday – Faith Rally: the high point of the week, a day-long celebration of spirit, mission, and service as students form 16 “faith families” containing all grade levels to pray, play, and serve together.
